Today I want to share my experience with this resource.
One of the things that really stood with me was the killing of the "flesh". For me, at the beginning was really hard not to surrender to my "desires and just follow what the Lord had for me. The first time I understood about fasting, I was in real trouble. My Heavenly Father directed me to fast. That was new to me, and hard to understand.
But at some point, I understood that my life needed a change! I was never going to do it by myself. I needed God to change who I was, so I could be a different man for my children. They needed a new father. I was far from the godly mand I should be and that was something I did not want.
Increasing the spirit means to kill our own desires, and let our Heavenly Father be our head so we can behave differently.

Una de las cosas que realmente me llamó la atención fue el matar la "carne". Para mí, al principio fue muy difícil no rendirme a mis "deseos" y simplemente seguir lo que el Señor tenía para mí. La primera vez que entendí acerca del ayuno, estaba en un verdadero problema. Mi Padre Celestial me indicó que ayunara. Eso fue nuevo para mí y difícil de entender.
¡Pero en algún momento comprendí que mi vida necesitaba un cambio! Nunca iba a hacerlo solo. Necesitaba que Dios cambiara quién era yo, para poder ser un hombre diferente para mis hijas. Necesitaban un nuevo padre. Estaba lejos del hombre piadoso que debería ser y eso era algo que no quería.
Aumentar el espíritu significa matar nuestros propios deseos y dejar que nuestro Padre Celestial sea nuestra cabeza para que podamos comportarnos de manera diferente.
