♕ Today's Promise: "In my trouble I called to the Lord; I called to my God for help. In his temple he heard my voice; he listened to my cry for help." 2 Samuel 22:7
Beloved brother,
You have probably found your way to us as a result of a crisis in your marriage. Welcome!
I realise that the one thing you want right now is the Lord  to fix what is happening immediately. I would like you to accept that what is going on is going to happen in God's timing- not yours. In the meantime, the Lord is going to give you a rest from all that is happening. If you read Erin’s first book you will realise that one of the things you have to do is let go so that God can take the reins.
But how can you do this? The very idea of it is incredulous, isn't it? This will come about because you are learning to trust the Lord with your situation, the wife, the house, the children, the car, the investments, the courts, restraining orders etc. it's also stressful! Some brothers have developed health problems while navigating all this.
Psalm 46: 1-3 (ESV)
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way,
though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea,
though its waters roar and foam  though the mountains tremble at its swelling.
God wants to give you rest from all this. There is no condemnation in He who loves you so much he gave a son for you! Have you spent time repenting for your failures as a husband? The good news is that if you have,  it's all a thing in the past! “What can take my sins away? ” a singer asks?  “Nothing but the blood of Jesus!”
The sacrifice our Lord and saviour made for you wipes away your failures. So beloved I don't want you to sit there and think and rethink everything that has happened. Forget all about woulda coulda shoulda because God wants to give you rest. Once you repent there is no more condemnation for you.
Romans 8:1-3 (ESV)
There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Â For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do
You have to get better at ignoring what is being said about you, all the condemnation that's being thrown your way, all your failures being thrown your way. Disconnect from all social media if you have to, you just don’t need it! If God has forgotten all about it then what does it matter? You have to let it go so you can have rest. God wants you to have rest in his forgiveness in his grace in his mercy! Will you take this rest brother will you stop carrying everything?
Proverbs 29:25
It is dangerous to be concerned with what others think of you, but if you trust the Lord, you are safe.
Matthew 11:29
Take my yoke and put it on you, and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in spirit; and you will find rest.
It is my testimony that once you forgive once you accept forgiveness for your failures you will find healing in your mind spirit and body. You will be able to walk in into the new thing that God has for you.
Don't forget this journey is not just about your marriage, it's about your relationship with the Lord. It's about the Lord pressing a reset button in your life so that you can be what He always wanted you to be. This is your gym time, your wilderness experience  with the Lord because He will never leave you!
So seek him, love him, obey him, follow him and he will give you rest. It doesn't matter what your estranged wife and others think or say about you anymore once you repent. It's an unfair advantage for you, it's called grace and it's for you. He alone says who you are not them.
From an ocean of tears have cried, He has heard you! Give him your whole heart, surrender to him and accept rest.
Exodus 3:7
Then the Lord said, “I have seen how cruelly my people are being treated in Egypt; I have heard them cry out to be rescued from their slave drivers. I know all about their sufferings.
2 Samuel 22:7
In my trouble I called to the Lord; I called to my God for help. In his temple he heard my voice; he listened to my cry for help.
