Anger vs Reward

Psalms 37:8
Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret—it leads only to evil. For those who are evil will be destroyed, but those who hope in the LORD will inherit the land.

Ecclesiastes 9:9
Live happily with the woman you love through all the meaningless days of life that God has given you under the sun. The wife God gives you is your reward for all your earthly toil.

Sometimes as men we become angry. Little things in life triggers us, be it work, traffic, having to deal with people, even the stress of having to take care of a family. We get to a point in life where it doesn’t take much to trigger us. And being men we tend to steer away from talking about what makes our emotions flare up. Little do we realise the harm that just a harsh word brings. Psalms says turn away from your rage. Yes i know its not easy, but what better advice then that in the bible. Harsh words puts us in a place where once said it takes a lot to heal the wound it creates. Im my own life i have realised that being angry doesnt help any situation that we find ourselves in. That brings me to my second scripture. The bible says live happily with the woman you love. And goes on to say she is your reward for your toil. How can we as men be angry and harsh to the partners given to us by God? Like the bible says she is our reward. So your reward will be determined on how we treat our wives. Sow anger into our relationships we shall reap anger and unhappiness. Sow love and we shall reap love.

  1. Beautiful reminder to share with my 4 married sons. This morning my husband reminded me that anger is hurt or offenses not forgiven. Left unchecked leads to festering bitterness.
Great post. Thanks to you both 😊
