To Seek or not to Seek, that is the question?

Hi Brothers,

Mathew 6:33

Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto you.

Did you know all these things include your wife!

Wow! What a season we are having currently, we have tried a few times to write this message, and events recently have given us the meat for the bone, so here goes.

Following encouragement conversations with various brothers, this message came through Loud and Clear that to them God's message was WAKE UP!  - [wake up to what?]

WAKE UP to the fact that the God of the Universe wants your full and complete attention!

They consistently spoke of the events occurring as God dropping a bomb directly into their lives.

How many of you were lukewarm in your walk with God, prior to your wife’s departure?   How many of you are still lukewarm? So, the Lord has allowed for this time for you to return to Him and become hot or “on fire for Him”.

In the bible the only reason we can find allowing a man and wife to separate is found in:

1 Corinthians 7:5

Do not deprive each other except perhaps by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.

So now by God’s plan, and because of your poor behaviour, mistakes, indiscretions, or perhaps testing, you find yourself separated.  God has certainly used this situation to grab your attention!

He is now asking you to work out your life in Him, lest Satan tempt you with the things of this world and distract you from the new Life Christ has planned for you.

You may notice that at no point yet have we mentioned the return of our spouse, you see God wants to know you have your priorities right with Him. Are you being honest with God? Are you only seeking Him to see your wife returned? Or are you Seriously seeking after Him and seeing the return of your wife as the “icing on the cake”?

True growth in life occurs through the most tumultuous of times. Recently I heard the harvest of crops being called violent, but when you consider the process of tilling the soil, planting, growing, and finally combining - the action of the blades etc, you can see “violence”, but the outcome of all this is the food that we eat, the soil was prepared, the seed planted, and the fruit picked.

This is just what God is doing in your lives right now.  You may feel, bare, beaten, dishonoured, unloved, but allow God to do his work.

I will be honest with you right now, unfortunately for someone who likes to find shortcuts through this journey, there are none.

He will put you in the “furnace”, he will “guillotine” areas of our lives, maybe even relationships that are unhelpful to us.

However, this journey goes, I have learned to rejoice and see that if God brings me to it, He will bring me through it.

When I was first separated from my wife, I was devastated even knowing that God had given me words and promises.  It is as my journey over the time continued that I learned more and more to trust and allow Him to make the necessary changes in my life, to make me the Man He wants me to be.

Having caught a hold of this truth that the journey is towards God, not for my marital reunification, God has been able to make a huge difference in my life.

So, Men of God, for how long are you willing to stay lukewarm, how many of you are still viewing this journey as one to purely see the return of your spouse?

Be real with yourself.  God knows the answer to the question.

If you are failing repent, God will lift you up.  The brothers will come alongside and walk with you.

You are separated from your spouse to concentrate on your time with the Lord, and this is the only reason.  So be encouraged, although what has been said may be harsh, God’s heart is that none shall fall, none shall fail.

Seek God and Rejoice in all circumstances,

Jude 1:24 KJV

Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, for Him that is able to keep you from falling is with you

To summarise, yes you have been separated from your beloved wife, but this is a season to not become defeated, but to chase after and actively seek God, not because he is the key to the return of your wife, but because He has given you this space in your life to be able to do that.

He desires that you make good use of this time!

And after having done all, we can then expect to receive our wives back, gift wrapped by God, as He has promised, having done precisely the same things with her as He has done with you.

I can assure you that you and your wife will not be the same when you get back together, so enjoy the journey, one that is fully founded upon and steadfastly supported by God!
